  2. We welcome groups of 3 to 25 to attend prayerful day retreats that are directed by an approved retreat facilitator.

  3. We welcome groups of 3 to 14 to attend prayerful overnight retreats that are directed by an approved retreat facilitator.

  4. All retreats are to be prayer-based experiences.

  5. All retreats are encouraged to include an experience of Eucharistic prayer.

The Apostolate for the Eucharistic Life can supply a retreat facilitator, as well as Eucharistic prayers for retreatants per request.

RULES AND PROCEDURES

Atmosphere:
  • It is our desire to maintain a quiet, peaceful atmosphere conducive to prayer at all times. Please be mindful of other guests, and their desire for silence and solitude.
  • The Bread of Life Retreat Residence is a smoke-free, alcohol-free, pet-free, and media-free environment.
Chapel:
  • The chapel is only to be used for prayer. If the praying hands light at the entrance of the chapel is lit, that signifies that someone is in the chapel and wishes to be alone for prayer. Feel free to use the light when you desire time alone with the Blessed Sacrament. Please do not enter the chapel if someone else has the light on.
  • Food and drink are not to be brought into the chapel.
  • Please do not touch the tabernacle in order to keep its polished appearance.
Bedrooms:
  • For your safety and the safety of everyone, don't burn incense or candles in the rooms.
  • No food is allowed in the bedrooms.
  • At the end of your stay, please remove all sheets from the bed and put them in a pillow case and leave them outside in the hallway.
  • Please put the dirty towels, etc. on top of the sheets, and place them outside of the room.
The Communal Kitchen: Everything in the kitchen is for everyone's use. Please help us keep it in good order.
  • Label your food items utilizing the labels and marker in the basket by the refrigerator. Be sure to check the refrigerator and remove all the food that you brought prior to departing.
  • Please make sure to wash the dishes and clean up after each meal.
  • Please do not use the garbage disposal.
  • Replacement garbage bags are available in one of the drawers. Please remove filled garbage bags and place in large yellow container in basement by garage door.
  • Only the two large stove burners are currently operating. Please make sure to shut the burners off after each use. In addition, please make sure to unplug the coffee maker when done having coffee.
Please limit the location of where you consume your food to the kitchen, dining area and outside porches. No food is permitted in the bedrooms.

Library: Feel free to utilize any of the books for spiritual reading.

Children: For the safety of all children, they must be supervised at all times.

Donations: There is a basket located on the desk in the main level hallway by the Chapel that contains envelopes for making donations. Donations may be left in the basket or mailed to the Apostolate. Thanks for supporting our mission!

Guestbook: We would appreciate your signing the guestbook located on the desk in the main level hallway by the Chapel, prior to your departure. We pray for all those who come to retreat here.
